West Highland Way

Bed and Breakfast accommodation, at Ewich House, Tyndrum, Crianlarich, Scotland, UK – West Highland Way

The West Highland Way is 152km (95 miles) long and links Milngavie (Glasgow) to Fort William. It runs from Scotland’s largest city, along its largest freshwater loch (Lomond) to the foot of its highest mountain (Ben Nevis).

Strathfillan marks the halfway point which makes Ewich a very popular stopping off point for WHW walkers. We are just 400mtrs from the way itself and there is a sign on the path pointing you down to Ewich so you can’t miss us! Most people walk to the house but if you want to walk on further to Tyndrum or even stop at Crianlarich then the local taxi service is really good value and will run you out to the house no problem . We can also arrange for them to drop you back again in the morning and sometimes we can do this for you as a complimentary service but this is dependent on timings for breakfasts and how many guests we have staying…

You can also stay with us for 3 nights which has the bonus of being able to unpack and spread out for a few days. Plus you benefit from our fab hospitality for extra nights obviously! We can arrange to have you picked up/dropped off by taxi from Inverarnan on the first day. Then you would walk to the house on the second day and then on your third day you would be picked up from Inveroran/Bridge of Orchy then dropped back again in the morning. Please ask about prices for the taxi as it does vary depending on how many of you there are. It’s really good value if there are 4 or more of you.

Other services include packed lunches (see food page for more info), overnight laundry service and early breakfasts by arrangement. All our rooms are en-suite with showers but we also have a separate bath which proves very popular for tired legs so you can soak away the aches and pains whilst reclined in a mass of scented bubbles…that goes for the blokes too! There are loads of potions and lotions provided for your use and once sweet smelling and clean then you can put your feet up in our cosy guest lounge or, weather permitting, outside admiring the view and our crew of animals …perfect!

As we are not providing dinners then it is probably a good idea to eat before you walk to us or walk on to Tyndrum, eat and then get a taxi to us. Have a look on the food page as we have provided a list of places to eat locally so you can get a good idea of where might suit you best!

All the baggage carrying services will drop off at Ewich and we would particularly recommend AMS , Travel-lite and GingerRoutes. Never missed a bag yet! If you have any other queries or questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Organising accommodation is like a military operation sometimes so we will try to do our best to help.

If organising your own trip is not the job for you then why not make it a whole lot easier on yourself and get someone else to do it!!

The company we recommend for this are Absolute Escapes , Macs Adventure , walkaboutscotlandwho are specialists in self-guided walking holidays on the West Highland Way. We’ve worked with them for years and they are the friendliest, most helpful bunch you could ever hope to organise your holiday!
